   Delgadito glanced into the valley again to verify that none of the other Shis-Inday were watching.  His fingertips poised next to Clay Taggart's shoulder blade, he was all set to shove when memories of the time Taggart saved his life filled his head.
   "We'll have to be on our guard for the cavalry,"  Clay was saying.  "I wouldn't be surprised if they're offering our hideout."
   Racked by rare doubt, Delgadito still could not bring himself to do what must be done.
   "Yes, sir.  You have the honor of being the most sought-after Indian in the entire Southwest."
   At any other time, Delgadito would have been flattered, but at that moment, all he wanted to do was what he should have done weeks earlier.  Bunching his shoulder muscles, he banished his doubt, drew back his arm, and lunged at Taggart....

QUICK KILLER

   On the rim, Clay hesitated to give the signal.  It had been easy to pronounce judgment on the trappers when he hadn't set eyes on them.   But now there they were:  living, breathing human beings--white men like himself.  Then he thought of his promise to the Apaches and how much taking his revenge on Miles Gillett meant to him.  He waved the rifle once.
   And just like that it was over.  The three trappers lay in spreading puddles of blood.
   Clay walker to the bottom.  He stood over one of the men and saw the trapper's eyes widen.
   "Your eyes!  They're blue!"  the man said, then erupted in a coughing fit.  "You're the one we heard about, aren't you?   You're the White Apache!"
