BLADE'S LAST STAND

  Something buzzed past Blade's right ear, and he automatically threw himself to the bank.  He landed on his left side and rolled to a squatting posture, the stock of the M60 pressed against his thigh.
  There was a hint of movement in a large tree thirty feet away.
Blade squeezed the trigger, the M60 thundering and bucking, the heavy slugs ripping into the foliage and sending leaves flying in all directions, the tracer rounds showing he was right on target.
  A harsh shriek greeted the Warrior's volley, and an indistinct shape dropped from the tree into the undergrowth below....

  Blade could see the Vampire's glassy eyes widening in consternation.  He raised the M-16 to his right shoulder, sighted, and fired.  His initial rounds smacked into the lead Vampire's head, catapulting the ghoul backwards.
  Sergeant Havoc, Boone, and Thunder took their cue from the Warrior.   Each cut loose with skilled precision.
  Caught in the open in a withering spray of automatic gunfire, the Vampires were decimated.  Six dropped in half as many seconds, their bodies riddled with holes.  Two foolishly tried to reach the bus and were cut to ribbons.  Only one was left alive; he wheeled and attempted to flee.
