BLOOD HUNT

TRAIL OF DANGER

With only his oldest friend and his trusty long rifle for company, Davy Crockett explored the wild frontier, looking for adventure...and finding it.  The courageous pioneer had the strength and cunning to get out of any scrape and face any enemy, no matter where his gallivanting might take him.   but even he might have met his match when he got caught between two warring tribes on one side and a dangerous band of white men on the other--all of them willing to die--and kill--for a captive woman.  It was up to Crockett to save the woman, his friend, and his own hide if he wanted to live to explore another day.

MISSISSIPPI MAYHEM

TWO AGAINST ONE

  They had Davy cornered, the river at his back.   Giving as good as he got, he slowly retreated, cautious steps taking him into the reeds.  Neither of the killers had connected but it was only a matter of time.
  Grizwald and Zeist paused.  They traded looks.  Grizwald winked, then nodded and roared, "Now!"
  Simultaneously, both men leaped.  Two glistening knives sought Davy's heart.  he tried to jump to the rear but his left foot became entangled and he crashed down among the reeds.  Water splashed, soaking part of his pants and shirt.   His coonskin cap slipped but did not fall.
  Frantically, Davy surged upright.  He knocked one knife away, then another.  The pair were grinning, sure of themselves, confident that in another few moments he would be worm food.
